How to stop frequent Norton Pop-ups?

23.11.2017 Admin

Every Norton antivirus comes with a pop up feature which is meant to warn users about the malicious programs or suspicious sites. When you open any suspicious site or download any program that is safe but your antivirus finds it's harmful then you receive a pop-up warning. You will keep on receiving this until your security program finds all the files or sites threatening.

But if you are opening a safe site and downloading a safe file and still you get pop-ups from this then you can disable this feature and you will not receive any pop-ups. But turn it off for a temporary period and then enable it after downloading the files.

In order to disable this feature, follow the below-given steps provided by the experts of Norton Support.

  • Firstly, go to the icon of this program located on the system tray.
  • Then right-click on the icon and select open from the options.
  • Then it will open up the antivirus window. Then you have to click on ‘Norton anti-spam’ located on the left pane of the window.
  • Then a list of options appears on the screen from which you have to select ‘status and settings’ option to open the anti-spam settings.
  • Then disable the ‘pop-up blocking’ option by clicking on the option.
  • Then you will see a small window on the right of the pop-up, on the click turn off.
  • After that, the green mark will turn to a yellow triangle. This indicates that the feature is disabled now.
  • Also, disable the ad blocking feature. Go to the setting and status section again and then see if the ad blocking is enabled. If yes, then click on it to disable it.
